How Long You Have To Walk To Work Off The Calories In A Chocolate Bar

I recently spent £15 in a greengrocers on cherries because I completely misunderstood what weights actually meant in practice. Similarly, whilst chocolate bars might tell us how many calories are in them, I don't think it means very much to anyone. So I have compiled this chart of how long it takes to walk off the calories in a number of leading chocolate bars.

That's an easy to understand number and gives you an idea of whether its worth the walk before you eat the bar.

The video above is more fun, but there are more details in the table below.

Stuff for those interested in details:

The calculation is based on person weighing 180 pounds/81 kilos/12.8 stone who will on average burn 65 calories when walking at a moderate pace for 15 minutes. That is based on the calculation from research found here: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/fitness/a47008/calories-burned-from-walking/

Cadbury have a very good on-line guide to the calories in their chocolate bars which can be found here: https://www.cadbury.co.uk/products

Mars are less helpful when it comes to getting a single source for their data, although it can be found on each chocolate bar. But I have taken their data from the NHS website calorie checker : https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/calorie-checker/
